Adjustable hardness and customizability have been in focus for a long time, but mass production and general application required a degressive transformation of existing technologies.
EFC comfort is one such technological innovation independent of manufacturers, which can be used cheaply, without the use of external energy and without risk in existing upholstered furniture, mattresses, design and existing manufacturing processes, without the need for extra investment.
The EFC core is equipped with a regulating valve, which can be opened to obtain softness corresponding to the properties of the foam used in the core, so that the firmness of the mattress or seat can be adjusted.
The use of EFC technology gives the user’s creativity free reign.
With the valve open, the mattress core becomes softer and then, when you reach the comfort level you desire, you simply close the mattress control valve. This is used to record the current hardness. This feature makes it possible to achieve the desired softness.
As the sponge or spring insert recovers its original shape, air flows back into the system. All this happens on its own. The mattress core, when unloaded, recovers when the valve is open and becomes filled with air.
Therefore, we can provide significant added value to existing furniture at minimal extra cost, so we can even help offer additional options for existing furniture offerings.
The mattress cores are more durable since they are not exposed to prolonged stress, so lower density foam is sufficient.
- For bed mattresses, we provide mattress cores in 50 cm lengths and 80 and 90 cm widths, which allow 2-zone body support for the most popular 80/16 and 90/180 cm bed mattresses.
- For sofas and armchairs, the 50 x 50 cm size is generally applicable.
- In the case of office chairs, a 36 x 36 cm core provides perfect comfort.
- Image explanation: In case of frequent hardness adjustment and for chairs, we recommend the external valve, where the opening and closing can be done easily from the outside.
- Image explanation: In the case of mattresses and open and upholstered fixed cushions, we recommend the use of the internal valve, which fits perfectly into the cushion and is almost undetectable.
- Image explanation: For upholstered furniture with fixed cushions where the valve is difficult to reach, the designer can place the valve on the furniture’s corpus (furniture frame) in the most suitable place for the comfort of the user.
For a wide range of applications of EFC technology, several valves have been developed.
It was a primary consideration that comfort should not come at the expense of appearance, so the placement of the valves can be determined freely, while we offer the perfect solution for every type of furniture and appearance, and the valves are also available in unique colors based on the RAL color scale.
Our design team, in cooperation with our partners, helps furniture designers to achieve the most comfortable designs by incorporating EFC technology in the case of the applied or designed furniture, while keeping the original design.
We provide maximum support for both the manufacturer and the designer’s work, and will help to create the right layers, whether it is to increase comfort or reduce costs.
Our designers can integrate EFC technology into the CAD plans provided to us, to achieve the most economical production solution

We will guide you step by step through the possibilities of adopting our technology, helping you to make an ideal and well-informed decision on the application of the technology.
The aim of the integration process is to effectively identify the benefits and potential challenges associated with the use of the new comfort technology. Of course, starting a dialogue does not in itself entail commitment.
I am a furniture or mattress manufacturer, I’d like to ask for more information and sign up. I would like to use EFC technology.
What additional benefits can the use of this technology bring as a furniture manufacturer?
